Many Muscovites with laptops are aware of the existence of golden wifi - the world's largest network of wifi access points, covering a large part of Moscow. 500 rubles per month provide unlimited access to this joy. But not everyone wants to gang up on the first sentence - especially tricky, like me, will look for alternatives, just in case
in fact, I found out about the alternative by chance. I read in LJ that there is a boingo company that rents its access point from Golden Telecom. I went to their site to read the details and was happy: for the same 20 bucks you get the same month of unlimited access, but worldwide! Moreover, in Moscow he knows more than 10 thousand points - even if these are not all golden wifi points, 10 thousand is enough for me :)
but inattention is still punishable. On the way to gaining unlimited wireless connectivity, I found two rakes. The first rake was that there is boingo wireless , and there is boingo mobile . These are different plans for access by one company, and they do not keep links to each other. Boingo wireless is designed for laptops, and mobile for all small things like smartphones and tablets. The main advantage of the mobile plan is three times lower (7 bucks versus 20). The main disadvantage is that I found out about it after a subscription and payment of the usual boingo, which cannot be used on small devices. However, the kind support compensated for this minus in both senses - refund without problems :)
The second rake is much more serious. When I looked at the first 20 of 10 thousand Moscow access points, I did not pay attention to the “premium location” postscript, which stood opposite each of them. And on the contrary, in general all the points that I saw in this list. This modest remark means that the Internet connection here will be paid additionally, at a price of ... 12 cents per minute! More expensive than talking on a mobile phone, even if you do not transmit data! But: as it turned out from communicating with a support, if you use global wireless - that is, to pay for unlimited access - these 12 cents per minute of connection are not paid.

In the end - for the most tricky with wifi on the PDA, Boingo Mobile will give you the Internet for only $ 7.95!
