Gamers save their favorite online game from closing

Bit-tech.net writes that fans of the online role-playing game Ryzom , the rights to which belong to the French studio Nevrax , began to collect donations to buy out the source code and database of the game from the studio.

Gamers enthusiasts have opened a special page on the game site, where everyone can leave their requests for the amount they are willing to donate to save their favorite MMORPG. Actually, the funds are not being accepted yet, until the court decision on the Nevrax bankruptcy case.

If the court decides that the studio should sell off its assets to pay the debts, the Ryzom code will be put up for sale for? 10,000.

It’s not quite clear why, but the amount that fans of the game are going to collect is? 60,000. Perhaps this is done taking into account the risk that the auction may be willing to interrupt the initial cost of the code and raise bids.
