Competition
The following week, the deadline for accepting applications for participation in the Intel competition in the field of concepts and wearable electronics devices - Intel Make it Wearable. The prize fund of the contest is $ 1.3 million. Site of the contest is makeit.intel.com
Workshop
The Association of Sports Robotics at the Hackspace Neuron and CMIT Laboratory will try to teach, answer questions and help realize your projects.
Leading workshop:
Alexey Nikolaev (head of the program for the development of innovation and entrepreneurship of Intel Russia)
Konstantin Kostiuk (President of the Association of Sports Robotics)
Andrei Budnyak (lecturer, vice-president of the Association of Sports Robotics, participant and winner of many robotic competitions)

The workshop should come to creative people who want to do something but there is no base.
If there are already projects of the idea for the competition, it will be possible on the spot to talk with a representative of Intel.
It is not worth going to advanced electronics engineers and embederas for them it will not be at all interesting, the level of entry is zero.

The workshop will tell you how the Internet of things and wearable electronics are connected / affect the development of robotics and why wearable electronics is the royal road for artists / designers in IT.

"Recall All" 1990, or is it a project at the Intel competition?

Under the cut there are some details about the workshop (schedule, E-Textile and LilyPad modules) and several videos about nominee projects (watch-helicopter, student brain control, Inception device, etc.)

Workshop

The plan for the workshop:

Mega-workshop is free and runs in one day from 10 to 22 hours.
The number of places is limited to educational materials (16 people).
check in
UPD as the number of applicants exceeded the number of seats, an additional 16 seats were added - “Additional ticket”. It gives the right to visit the workshop and in the case of non-attendance of the owner of the "Entrance ticket" to take his place.

10:00 Entry - Intel Contest of Wearable Concepts and Wearable Electronics. Aleksey Nikolayev, Head of Innovations and Entrepreneurship Development Program at Intel Russia, reports.
10:30 Coffee break and acquaintance.
11:00 Wearable electronics. Sewn electronics. Overview, concepts and modules available. Konstantin Kostiuk - President of the Association of Sports Robotics.
12:30 Break for lunch.
13:00 Training course on electronic modules and their use. The practical part is built on Arduino and E-Textile modules.
18:00 - 22:00 Work on the projects of the participants.

Video about the modules that can be used in their projects - E-Textile and LilyPad

LilyPad is stitched modules based on arduino and a large number of stitched peripherals

E-Textil - based on conductive threads, namely the thread and not the soft wire.
These threads sew, knit and weave to receive electrical fabrics and patterns.
