Synology® introduces the RackStation RS3614xs and RS3614RPxs. Optimum performance and reliability for large businesses
Taipei (Taiwan) —June 17, 2014 — Synology today announced the upgrade of its flagship XS-series with 12-disc models RackStation RS3614xs and RS3614RPxs. They offer large businesses an ultra-fast, scalable, and reliable storage solution that meets all your business and productivity needs.

Both models are equipped with solid platforms, working on a 3.4 GHz dual-core processor, and having two PCIe slots, which, having improved bandwidth and supporting up to four 10GB connections, can achieve 74% performance increase at a speed of 3.518 MB / s and 282.660 IOPS. These models come with a SATA III 6 Gb / s interface and optimized support for SSD cache read / write, which allows you to maximize throughput while minimizing the cost per gigabyte.

For superior performance and reliable data storage, RS3614xs and RS3614RPxs have 4GB ECC RAM, expandable to 32GB. For uninterrupted operation, the devices are equipped with: a hot-swappable system, including fans, network ports with fault tolerance support, and a Synology High Availability software module. To further increase the uptime of the system, the RS3614RPxs and the RX1214RP expansion unit are equipped with additional power supplies.
In the RS3614xs and RS3614RPxs models developed specifically for the growing business, the data storage capacity can be increased to 216 TB using the two expansion modules RX1214 or RX1214RP.
