About encryption of referrers in Yandex

Last December, in a post on Habré, we announced that we had started an experiment on encrypting the text of a request in the referer field in order to protect the privacy of users. We systematically expanded this experiment and by February the share of encrypted data reached 30% of requests. The time that has passed since the announcement, as we hope, has enabled webmasters to reorient themselves towards other ways of assessing user interests. From today we begin to encrypt referrers for 100% of the request flow.
