Maker Faire in Chinese (exhibition of the achievements of robotics and electronics)

Maybe some of you have heard about the Maker Faire exhibition, and maybe there are even lucky ones who personally participated.

Maker Faire is an exhibition of innovative projects in robotics and electronics, supported by the famous Make magazine, hackspaces, makers and many hi-tech companies. Unfortunately, as far as I know, the exhibition has not been held in Russia yet. But in China this year was held, and in this post we show what is so interesting there was presented.
')
The Maker Faire exhibition was held in Shenzhen , the unofficial world capital of electronics.

At the entrance he meets an iron big robot:

There are a lot of people:

Stand from local electronics company SeeedStudio :

(By the way, they are sponsors of the Chaihuo Make Space hackspace, about which we reviewed ).

Ears of brain activity, the necomimi project:

The essence of the project is that the behavior of the “ears” is completely autonomous, more precisely related directly to the state of human brain activity.

Texas Instruments booth (their LaunchPad boards are something like Arduino):

(by the way, they send the developer kit for only $ 4.5)

Any shields (expansion modules) for TI LaunchPad:

Lighter, which monitors how much you smoke, and prohibits you if you have passed the limit.

Nozzle on a tennis rocket:

Calculates the amount and force of impact.

The young sapper's kit is, of course, super:

Stand products of the Chinese company alsrobot :

Familiar faces from TechSpace (about which we recently talked about ):

Presented examples of laser cutting:

And also their quad copters:

MetaWatch Smart Watch Stand :

Stand quadrocopter DJI Phantom :

(by the way, the DJI office is located in Shenzhen)

Cheerful charging for phones:

The uArm project of a manipulator arm that collected $ 250k on a kick starter. Developers from Shenzhen.

Managed leapmotion .

Filters coins (video recognition system and vacuum suction cup):

If you are interested, here is a short video report about this robo-arm in action:

This is the world’s lowest cost and power management system, the WRTnode gives you the wizard, side. This demo of WRTnode makes each child smile in Shenzhen MakerFaire 2014. We will remember the smiles.

Booth company arcbotics .

HEX Spider:

LineFollower:

Charging for a mobile phone. The main thing is that when you shake, it vibrates and shows how much is charged by the LED.

LightCube LED :

In action:

Children enthusiastically assemble a Grove-Mixer-Pack constructor from SeeedStudio.

Here is an interesting project polascii from guys from local hackspace:

The essence of the project is a video camera, the image is processed and translated into ASCII characters, which can be printed here using a thermal printer. Learn more about the project, and all sources: github.com/terryoy/polascii

Climate control:

From the company - redbearlab (Hong Kong)

Valier mechanized animals:

LED Tape:

Handsomely.

Internals ( mbed platform):

From the description:

we find out that the author - a Japanese developer - has personally soldered over 1500 LED RGB!

By the way, in the background is another Japanese project - the Rapiro robot - inside the RaspberryPi, the serfs, the body (theoretically) can be printed on 3D, which has collected ÂŁ 75,099 on a kickstarter

HDD light display and pendulum version

A whole book about POV (Persistence of vision, inertia of vision)

The development team of the robo-designer Makeblock (which, by the way, is also local - from Shenzhen), made a separate stand, with the possibility of robo-battles

Thank you targence for the photos provided.

Finally

Of course, this is only a small part of the projects that were presented at Maker Faire, here there is:
8-minute video of the visitor from the stands at the Maker Faire

you can feel the atmosphere.

I am sure that our Russian craftsmen can show no less interesting developments, I would like to see such an exhibition plan here, in Russia, too. Such events can stimulate interest in robotics, electronics, and in general DIY, and creativity.
