Perhaps a rare viewer did not watch the movie Groundhog Day. Remember, when Phil tells the peasant with whom he sits at the bar for a drink about his problem, he answers: "This is the story of my life."
Quite a few people are faced with the problem of allocating time between tasks, setting priorities.
Let's look at the example of one working day, how a pair of movements changes everything.
')
Before.
In the morning I come, open the IDE, download the project. On ICQ comes - hello, do not you see? I switch to the task, I look - it seems a trifle. I sit down to do it - additional details, unexpected moments come up, I delve into the process. Google I open Habr, I think to look a couple of articles. I hang on Habré ... I hear a voice: “Are you going to have lunch?”. Oops - on the clock for two.
Have dinner. At the table there were clever interlocutors, a hot topic was touched on, and now the food is over, and the discussion is in full swing. Truly - lunch in Russia is not food, but time of day.
The clock shows three.
Returning to the workplace. ICQ blinks to me immediately a dozen eyes. I close ICQ without viewing messages. Checking mail again spam. I spend 10 minutes to clean up spam.
Hooray, focused on the task. Moving to a solution.
De-de-de-de-de-ts. DPRRRRRRRRRRR. Scary sounds violate the usual, dimensional buzz of the fan. It is on the street again breaking asphalt.
Switch to routine. Again, a sharp sound pierces silence - this colleague left a mobile phone, and he left. Patiently I wait for the melody carefully set by the owner to lose at the maximum volume in all colors of sixty-four-part polyphony. Returning back to the tasks. I made half, I look at the clock - already eight.
This is how another working day flew by.
After.
In the morning I come, open the IDE, download the project. On ICQ comes - hello, do not you see? In response, I throw pre-prepared questions, the answers to which need to be sent by mail. I turn off ICQ. In the lower right corner, messages of the beloved Habr are
heartily flashing (thanks to Habra-
Reader ).
I finish the task before lunch, go out for a half hour to walk - the weather is fine.
Have dinner. At the table were clever interviewees, raised a hot topic. The phone rings, apologizing, I go out. This is just a preset reminder. Leaving the battlefield. The clock shows two twenty.
Returning to the workplace. ICQ blinks at me immediately twenty eyes.
Quickly browsing messages. I give an urgent answer to a couple of important ones, I ignore the rest. The spam filter removes garbage from the mail in one motion. I read the remaining letters, draw up a list of tasks, quickly set priorities. Where clarification is required - I am writing the answer. It took ten minutes, close the mail, proceed to the tasks.
To the music, well-fed, contented, in a calm atmosphere, I am completing the routine. Sometimes the faces of colleagues are surprised - it turns out that something outside the window either rattled or pounded.
