The
Wi-Ex company has created a device called zBoost, which can help those who live in the so-called “dead zones” - places where cellular communication is not available due to the terrain relief and dense construction.
A compact antenna box captures a weak base station signal and amplifies it, thus, as the developers claim, “increasing the signal by two or three divisions”. How exactly to understand such a statement is not very clear, because, for example, for Nokia phones, the maximum signal power is indicated by seven “chopsticks”, and by Motorola - only three.
The zBoost kit includes a large outdoor antenna, a fairly long cable and an internal repeater for indoor installation.
