On June 1, the first Omsk geo-hakaton ended. Recall that it was held in two stages: the first, the competition of ideas , and the second, the implementation of the proposed idea. We are in a hurry to tell about the second stage, we have succeeded!
')
After the first stage, the teams had a week to refine their ideas, and at the end of the second stage, submit a working prototype. The second stage of the geo-hackathon took place over two days - May 31 and June 1. Recall that the winner of the first stage was the team "Dream" with the idea of implementing geo-contextual advertising. A little less participants registered for the second stage of the competition, so we took more time to speak.
The jury consisted of: Chairman: Semen Rubanenko - Director of Information Technologies Alexander Ugarov - Head of Development EST Technologies Anna Tarasenko - Director 7Bits Evgeny Tyumentsev - Managing Partner of Tik-Tak-Kouch Company Vitaly Firstov - Head of ISS Art Development Department
All days as experts were present: Denis Nelyubin - System Architect EST Technologies George Kamanchan - Senior .Net Developer EST Technologies Valentin Dodatko - Head of the Cartography Department of EST Technologies
Before the participants parted for the preparation of prototypes, our experts, “to warm up” the teams, read the thematic reports:
After that, the participants parted for the preparation of prototypes. The teams had to work very hard, but the spectators had plenty of fun, fencing, shooting and generally having fun.
As a result of the teams' work, 7 reports were submitted to the jury on June 1.
1. Very Fat Squirrel Team
According to the speaker, after the first stage, the whole team was engaged in an urgent project, therefore only one person participated in the competition, in the second stage - the speaker himself. At the same time, the presentation of the project of the team was very interesting, and our participant received the audience award.
They offered to refine the transport network to customers of taxi services (for bonuses).
3. SibCats Team
The guys admitted that the work on the project was very active, and they had to involve a very serious mathematical apparatus to implement their ideas. Here is what one of the participants says: “As much as we ate mathematics in these two days, we did not eat the previous six months))”. Their project is “Economically calculated individual tariff for each taxi driver based on statistics and geo-data”.
“Evil beards” suggested that there should be a connection between social events and the number of taxi orders to these addresses. Unfortunately, according to the data that we provided, it was definitely not possible to establish a connection. However, we came to an agreement that the Angry Beards team will complete the work to the end and try to test their hypothesis on more complete data, which we will gladly provide them.
5. Dream Team
Unfortunately, the winners of the ideas contest did not have time to transform their idea into a prototype.
Based on the proposed data, the team offered to predict the appearance of orders by areas of the city. In her opinion, this should also be beneficial for drivers who will not stand idle while waiting for orders and customers who, in turn, will leave as quickly as possible. WIN-WIN.
The linuxoids broke the city into squares, analyzed the raw data, predicted the appearance of orders for this partition. The resulting forecast was offered to sell to drivers and directors of taxis.
Winners
The winner of the Geo-Hackathon was the team SibCats , which received a prize worthy of the work of this team: iPhone 5S 64GB.
The following teams were also marked:
VeryFatSquirell - for a cool presentation Angry Beards - for the original idea OmskLUG - for running the application
All participants were presented with certificates for 1000 rubles for trips to a taxi.
Well, everything went in, as they say, a constructive and friendly atmosphere; moreover, we saw really working, interesting projects that could serve both taxi companies and their clients.
It remains to thank all the participants and spectators.
