A few hours ago, a new build of Opera was released, which mainly includes improvements in the rendering speed of heavy DHTML pages. As the developers assure, this very rendering is now up to ten times faster than previous builds. The “side effect” of this update was that Opera’s fully sane work with Gmail 2.0 (after all, it had braked godlessly before) ... Everything works fine - glitches, while not found. It runs so fast ... stably ... Actually, because of the new Gmail - I confess - it sometimes tempted me to switch to Firefox, but I steadfastly and heroically kept ...
0 with a new build, put in a word ...
My free translation:
This week has been actively working on drawing improvements in Windows and Mac. You will see an increase in speed from 2x to 10i times on heavy DHTML pages. The level of performance depends on the page itself, the video card, and the operating system used. To see for yourself the improvements, compare the previous build with the new one on the following test pages:
Performance test 1 Performance test 2 ')
Under Windows XP, with an AMD 4600+ X2 processor and an NVidia 7600 GT video card, I see a ninefold increase in speed. On other video cards and operating systems, the performance will be different. This is drawing optimization and it may not be visible on light pages without DHTML or other visual effects. Javascript and ECMAscript were also optimized, which will be noticeable on all platforms.
The above tests are very pretty :) - I would like to compare their results with the results of other browsers ...
Pps
