SlateBook - 14-inch laptop running Android OS

HP, which usually produced laptops for Windows and Chrome OS , introduced the SlateBook, a 14-inch laptop for Android, in early June. Rumors about this event leaked to the media about a month ago, and finally received official confirmation.

Slatebook is not the first Android laptop , but definitely the largest and most stylish. Inside it: a 4-core NVIDIA Tegra processor, 64 GB of flash memory, 2 GB of RAM, and a battery that promises 9 hours of continuous operation. In addition, the novelty is equipped with a touch screen of 1080 pixels. Of course, the laptop has a traditional keyboard - for those who like to keep it on the lap in the old-fashioned way. Weighing in at 1.7 kilograms, the SlateBook has the expected features for a notebook of this size and specification.

SlateBook will be available in August, and its estimated price - from $ 399, which is not very much for a laptop with a thickness of 16 mm. It is even thinner than the popular MacBook Air , but, truth, thicker than the new Microsoft Pro 3 . Although both of these options cost at least twice as much.

In addition, HP has updated HP ChromeBook 11. Now its battery has become more (up to six hours of continuous operation), and the price is lower, starting at $ 249. The line also added a new color: lovers can choose white or turquoise, or order some other color.

The only question is the demand for such a machine. Do you need a full-size laptop with Android on board?
