Apple is preparing a new software platform that will turn the iPhone into a smart home control panel. Financial Times predict that the announcement will take place on Monday, June 2, in San Francisco.

Earlier, I
wrote that Samsung plans to develop a single exosystem of its consumer electronics and gadgets (to put it simply - smart home) based on the Tizen platform (the idiot’s dream comes true - see the post “
Refrigerator on Android ” - so what, it will be on Tizen ).
')
On the other hand, in January, Google
acquired Nest Labs, a company producing thermostats and smoke detectors with Internet access, for $ 3.2 billion.
The Financial Times
suggests that this is due to the exhaustion of the growth opportunities of the smartphone market in developed countries.
They also write that Apple, joining the race with Google and Samsung, is involved in a big game. I would say that the inclusion of Apple and makes this game great - Samsung has never been a trendsetter, and Google could not compete with itself. Now it really becomes interesting.
What exactly will be presented on Monday - we will find out on Monday. Since Apple does not have the habit of demonstrating prototypes, it may be already running software with announced plans for deadlines and partnerships with manufacturers of home appliances. Since the Yabloko workers are unlikely to start producing microwaves in the near future, integration with existing market players is indispensable.
PS It's a funny fact: there are several comments on the Financial Times article about how people are afraid of the prospect that corporations will know what time they come home and all that.
