Panoramic HD-camera Giroptic: shoots under water, screwed into a cartridge from a light bulb, stream through Ethernet and WiFi

Giroptic's Kickstarter campaign, ten days after launch, exceeded its original target of $ 150,000 four times. Although it does not have any revolutionary technical innovations, it captivates with a well-thought-out design and an abundance of possibilities, many of which are focused on professional use in video shooting or surveillance systems.

Giroptic can work under water at a depth of up to 10 meters (waterproof class IPx8). In order for the lenses to work properly under water, sealed “glasses” are put on the camera, creating an air gap between the lenses and water. The viewing angle of the camera is 360 degrees horizontally and 300 degrees vertically. Shooting is provided by 3 cameras with high-quality glass fisheye lenses. Camera resolution in video mode - 2048 x 1024, in photo mode - 4096 x 2048, with the ability to take up to 3 shots per second.

The image from the three lenses is automatically glued by the camera processor and can be broadcast live or recorded on an SD card. Giroptic does not use any clever proprietary formats - video in mp4 and photos in jpg can be processed and viewed using any common software. Giroptic includes a GPS receiver, three microphones and a gyroscope for video stabilization. The camera can be mounted on a standard tripod.

Giroptic has many options for streaming video. The camera supports WiFi, and it is also possible to connect an adapter with an Ethernet connector and use Giroptic as a wired IP camera powered by Ethernet. In addition, there is an adapter for the E27 base - the camera can be screwed into a conventional lamp holder and it will broadcast the panoramic image via WiFi - a ready-made surveillance system without having to lay wires and install mounts for cameras. The cost of the camera in the minimum configuration (camera + glasses for underwater photography) - $ 350.
