Good day everyone! It so happened that the comments in the topic
“Project Management: Operational vs. project approach " preceded my weekly vacation. I decided to use it and speak out in some format on the issue of portfolio management. The format was originally supposed to be a book (and this is according to the UNESCO standard of at least 49 pages), but then I decided that this is quite a lot for those involved in portfolio issues (in general, I am a person who suffers from brevity). Therefore - a brochure.
Download it
here . In short, it covers the issue of portfolio management in terms of resource and risk management. Resources are organizational assets and labor resources, and risks are the influence of negative factors. An analysis of alternatives is also considered. All this is mixed up in three “cocktails” of portfolio management - for those who love it easier, for those who love it more seriously, and a moderate option.
I cite the contents of the brochure:
1. Introduction
2. Strategy around the head
3. Toolkit
3.1. Project Tools
3.1.1. Financial Project Tools
3.1.2. Management Project Tools
3.2. Portfolio tools
3.2.1. Financial portfolio tools
3.2.2. Management portfolio tools
4. Create a flexible portfolio.
5. Between plan and fact
6. “Cocktails” portfolio management
7. In conclusion
In the brochure can not be found:
A. Examples of "life". I don’t evoke examples of trust - you can always turn the presentation in favor of some idea. Therefore, these tricks are missing,
B. Description of the well-known project management tools (scheduling, and other PMBoK). Because everyone knows them anyway, and no one would pay me anyway for the water in the text.
C. Fully binding to IT. Therefore, everything can be considered there as an example of IT, since I have worked all my life in the field of IT, with the exception of a couple of episodes in trade and mining.
')
Nevertheless, I very much hope that at least someone written in the brochure will benefit. I believe that even if at least someone takes the tools described in the brochure thanks to her, then this is a reason to pour champagne.
In the comments I will be glad to learn about useful books in the field of project portfolio management. In my opinion, they are very small.
PS For the layout, please do not scold - he did not have design talents from birth.
