Good afternoon, the article was written as a kind of continuation of
this opus. 1C company is often criticized, often objectively, but I will try by example to show that 1C gives you the freedom to choose, which at the present time deserves respect. Also count some money.
Prologue.
The main activity of our small company is IT outsourcing. Rather, for marketing and enthusiastic purposes, we create solution templates that allow us to standardize the wards' IT infrastructure a little bit, and to get the client and, most importantly, realize the savings (if you don’t praise yourself with the report, then no one will notice). Clients are small companies from 20 to 200 people. One of these solutions is the implementation of 1C enterprise server on a free Linux + Postgres SQL platform. The article will not be another technical implementation, since everything has long been
chewed and
chewed . There will be only a comparison of the standard offer from 1C franchisee and our economical option for May 2014.

Task number 1.
Transfer the database from the file mode to the SQL version with the possibility of using up to 20 clients.
Calculation of two options.
We do not deal with the maintenance of 1C, because all the recommendations: the client receives the need to switch from file base to SQL, purchase licenses, hardware complex from the accompanying 1C franchisee. Next comes the consultation with us, we propose an alternative solution for the 1C + Linux + Postgres SQL bundle, and we implement it ourselves.
Offer for 20 users.

Explanations and nuances:
- 1C implementers (in the universe, of course, there are others who are trying to save the client, but we don’t come across such ones) by default they offer USB option keys, they are significantly more expensive than file licenses. Naturally, the choice of the type of key does not depend on the implementation platform. It appears in the table made a trick in favor of the Linux platform. Nevertheless, let me remind you that this is not about a rigorous evaluation of proposals, but about a fresh example from practice. For the sake of objectivity, I must clarify that in my opinion, implementers tend to use USB keys not in order to increase spending, but for the sake of reliability of use and simplicity of further maintenance, “all the more” when it comes to implementation on Linux + Postgres SQL.
- Often, we also for small companies acquire the 1C: Enterprise key x86, rather than 64. At the same time, Postgres SQL uses the 64-bit version, and the 1C server of the enterprise is 32-bit. The use of organizations up to 60 people, we consider acceptable, is a subjective thesis.
- Not considered the cost of work. In our case, it is included in the service contract, because for the client it is equal to zero. We assume that the introduction and further support are about the same.
Task number 2 + bonus from 1CTransfer the database from the file mode of operation to the SQL version with the possibility of using up to 10 clients.

Addition to the nuances of example number 1
- Kind 1C allows you to use 1C enterprise server on Linux for 12 clients without an enterprise server key, for Windows there is no such thing. The bonus is doubtful, because 10 users will be able to survive on the file, but still pleasant.
Total.
Often, the economy within our country destroys any good system initiatives. It seems to me that this case is still from a different category. Three years ago, when we introduced 1C enterprise server on Linux as a standard for our companies, we really listened without a false concern from 1C implementers that they disclaim responsibility for maintaining a supported configuration on such a non-kosher Linux + Postgres SQL this and entering the client in a state of panic.
Perhaps, in the calculations I have brought, it is possible to shoot another ten or more critical arrows, it is difficult to pretend to objectivity, but I wanted to convey a general idea of the financial component of the issue.

the technical ability to work without a key does not expose the legal permission to do so. The law on the legal protection of computer information prohibits the use of any software products whose rights holder does not declare them free of charge (and we have never declared this server free of charge).

We kindly request to keep the history of correspondence with further reference.PS:Often, employers are colleagues who implement similar solutions and do not know about the savings. The following scheme works for us.
Offer from 1C franchisee software, from us offer to the server. "Our" budget for the server is cut, usually twice. We offer an alternative licensed solution, insisting that the money saved return to the hardware. It turns out that 1C lobbies our desire to work with server hardware.
