On PHD IV, the PentestIT team, together with specialists from Positive Technologies , OnSec and CSIS , presented the next penetration testing lab “Test.lab v.6” codenamed “One step ahead” , which was developed for more than 2 months. Recall that the previous laboratory "Along and across" was presented at ZeroNights'2013, in which Omar Ganiev (Beched) won a rapid victory.

Lab “One Step Ahead” is a real network of the virtual company “Global Security”, which deliberately contains vulnerabilities of various types and complexity, covering almost all areas of information security: networks, operating systems, applications, etc. The main goal of the laboratory is to give everyone the opportunity to test their penetration testing skills in practice.

Plot:

In the laboratory “Test.lab v.6”, participants will be asked to perform penetration testing of the distributed network of the virtual company “Global Security”, which has received worldwide fame for using the most up-to-date network protection and monitoring systems, which, according to the company's management, guarantee 100% protection against hackers

For all the time of its existence, the IT structure of Global Security has never been compromised by intruders, said IB Director Michael Minter - the result of uncompromising protection systems and certified personnel! The management of Global Security is so confident in the security of its IT resources that it is ready to challenge the experts of practical information security from around the world.

As we know, the IT structure of the company includes various components, such as WEB servers, Cisco equipment, application servers, developed by Global Security employees, and most importantly, Global Security is a distributed network with several offices, connected communication channels. By the way, according to available data, the company's network scheme leaked to the Internet.

You, as a professional in the field of computer hacking, White Hat, behind whom the operation of systems of various scales and complexity, have to prove that there are no secure systems! About work in the laboratory:

Laboratories "Test.lab" are computer networks of virtual companies that contain common configuration errors and vulnerabilities. Participants acting as pentesters try to exploit them, and in case of success, they get access to separate laboratory nodes, each of which contains a token. The winner is the participant who first collected all the tokens. Depending on the specific laboratory, the work in it is carried out in the “black or gray box” mode. Laboratories allow the use of various methods of hacking (exploitation of network service vulnerabilities, WEB, social engineering, buffer overflow, etc.). Also on the site is available a section with materials for training and examples of tasks that will help participants to prepare for work in the laboratory.
