The Russian-Ukrainian team Kwelea, based in Canada, launched a
campaign on Kickstarter to raise funds for a universal, miniaturized wireless data storage called MBLOK.
A small aluminum cube is connected via Bluetooth to mobile devices, providing full access to the files stored on it. By launching a special application, you can use the data - for example, watch videos and photos, listen to audio files - at speeds up to 24 Mbps.

At the initial stage, compatibility with Android and iOS is claimed, further integration with BlackBerry, Windows Phone, Kindle, Pebble smart watches and other devices is planned. FTP support allows you to access files from other devices.

Unlike existing wireless drives (such as
Kingston Wi-Drive or
Seagate Satellite ) equipped with Wi-Fi modules, the MBLOK team has focused on long battery life — Bluetooth 4.0 is used to save energy, and Bluetooth 3.0 + HS is used for fast data transfer. . The 550 mAh battery should last for 300 hours of standby time.
MBLOK provides 128-bit data encryption, it is planned to integrate with the cloud storage of Google Drive, DropBox, OneDrive.
