Google requires to give a telechastoty under traffic

After a series of successful maneuvers in the wireless market, Google made it clear that it would be in the telecommunications business. The only question is - in what capacity? Will it promote its own devices for the mobile web (“Google phones”)? What specific communications technologies are you going to invest in?

Recently it became known about the new plans of the Internet giant. In an open letter to the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), Google described the data network in the free range of the television spectrum, that is, in the frequency bands between TV channels. Guide Google sees good prospects here and calls this plan “WiFi 2.0” or “WiFi on steroids”.

There are so few free frequencies. This is “the only way to build a high-speed wireless data network that is universally accessible to all Americans,” writes Google.

Representatives of the television industry in any case do not want to give their frequencies. They assure that when transmitting traffic on TV frequencies, interference occurs and signal quality deteriorates at the main frequencies, and this is perceived very negatively by viewers. In principle, the way it is: there really is interference, which was proved during the first experiments with a new type of modem. But the developers of such modems ensure that they can eliminate problems in the future, as well as increase the data transfer rate to several terabits / s.

Interestingly, the use of telechastot for data transmission has long been fighting against the television lobby, and Intel, and Microsoft, and other companies. Now they have a new ally-competitor.
