The rules of the road are violated in any country, no matter how civilized / rich it is. And the fight against violators is an important element of police work. True, the methods of struggle are different. Someone works in the old fashioned way, checking documents "manually" to identify the owner of the car. And somewhere already use the latest technology.
For example, the testing of Google Glass in the police of the emirate of Dubai has recently begun. The policemen themselves received “glasses”, as well as two applications specially written for the police. The first allows you to quickly make and upload photos of the scene. The second - scans the car number and determines the owner.
')
All this is done for fast and efficient work of police officers who do not have to waste time searching for the owner of a car, requesting a base. It is not yet known when Dubai policemen will start using Google Glass throughout the emirate. According to Colonel Khalid Nasser Al Razuki, if the test period goes well, then all traffic police will use Google Glass. Of course, after this device will be widely available (though for Dubai, it’s probably not a problem to agree with Google on the allocation of a special batch of Google Glass ahead of time).
We will see how useful this device is for us, and how much more efficient our work will be. And then we will make a decision on the "arming" of our police Google Glass.
By the way, the application for "points" identifies the owner instantly, as mentioned above, by the license plate of the car. And if the car is wanted (or the owner of the car is wanted), the police will immediately be aware, without additional gestures.
By the way, not so long ago, the police of other countries began to use Google Glass and similar technologies, not only in the automotive sector, but also to identify criminal elements in the crowd, for example. Presumably, such technologies will become widespread among the police of many countries, in the near future.
