I want to share with the Asteriskers and IP telephonists about how we held a two-day conference in Dubna last weekend.
By the way, this is the second Asterisk conference in Russia. David Duffett from Digium, who flew in from London, said that the most active community in Canada is where 70-100 asteriskers gather each month (that’s how it is with us!). Looking ahead, I would say that everyone enjoyed it so much that the conference organizers signed up to do it every year.
We posted the official report on the participants and their reports in our blog , and here I would like to tell about it in a more “informal” setting, since the free Spirit Asterisk was constantly hovering over us, influencing how this big and warm meeting took place. ')
We also created a group in VK, which is called the Asterisk 2014 Conference , where we post the recordings of the participants' speeches.
For those who do not like preludes, but want everything at once, I bring up two videos, day one and day two, before habrakat.
Well, who cares for a long time and in all details, you are welcome under the cat.
I'll start from the end. The participants did not want to part so much that by the power of their spirit, the contradictions, after 300 meters after the start, almost pushed the 18-ton bus into a ditch, which then the guys from the Emergencies Ministry tried to rescue from there until one o'clock in the morning. It was a whole special operation, the details of which with all the photos we covered here in VK . I will cite only one photo:
At first, everyone tensed, but then, when they realized that there were still a couple of crates of beer and grilled kebabs, they were very happy, and organized Brownian movement around the bus, drinking beer and advising the Emergencies Ministry how to get the hippo out of the swamp. And laughter and sin, but it was actually fun to look at this circus from the first row.
In general, bread and circuses admittedly participants enough for all.
Someone suggested every year to bury the bus.
Well, before we took a bus, we were buzzing together in a friendly and cheerful way on the bank of the river Dubna, in a place with a much more appropriate name “Drunk Glade”.
Like this:
I know, it is ugly to brag, but we called the best barbeque in Dubna with all of our team, and they covered such a “clearing” that the organizers themselves were slightly surprised.
Fresh air, natural scenery, kebabs, fried bird, pilaf, faithful potatoes, salads, grilled vegetables, and all this richly flavored with beer and drinks stronger led to the expected effect - Asterisk Spirit condescended and bliss engulfed us all.
Well, then the Brownian movement in the form of asteriskers contentedly moving with life went on.
Asterisk gave us all happiness from work and material well-being, and we hurried to share with each other our joys and achievements.
I cannot find words that could convey the ineffable atmosphere that prevailed at the meeting.
And all this thanks to Asterisk, and more precisely, to all those who take an active part in this eco-system.
Well, taking this opportunity, I invite all the workers from the Asterisk hub to visit Dubna, a year later, at about the same time.
PS If someone suddenly read “diagonally” and missed, the topics of the reports that were at the conference, we posted in our blog, right here .
