It so happened that I am not a journalist or a blogger. I don’t carry an expensive camera or camera with me, and for everyday photo-video I lacked a smartphone. However, today fate brought me to the Arab Media Forum 2014, where Arab journalists and prominent bloggers talked about SocialMedia in the modern world, and in the lives of Arab countries in particular. And there was a magic room there, and when I entered, I could not resist the desire to make a video and share it with the artists. And for the first time I regretted that I have nothing to make a decent video.
I can not describe everything that was discussed here, because I have not heard a single report in English. Those interested can read tweets with tag # AMF14. I want to share a couple of videos from a wonderful showroom, built to show us the future, as seen through the prism of heaps of money and turning around on gadgets (they said that smartphone penetration in the UAE is the highest in the world - 75% or something ). Since everything was photographed and shot on a smartphone, I would like to ask special aesthetes to look for a video on YouTube when other visitors start uploading it there, I highly recommend it. The goal of this post is simply to share positive impressions with those who can appreciate this wonderful room.

The room is a room somewhere 10 by 8 meters, all the walls of which represent a screen. They broadcast a picture that beautifully goes from the ceiling to the walls. It turns out very atmospheric and beautiful. The central wall is made of LCD panels. If I remember correctly, this is Samsung. Walls - some luminous points, with a diameter of 3-4 millimeters. I would say "diodes", but I do not know diodes with such a wide range of colors. Unfortunately, there is nobody to ask here. The floor is slightly different texture, there are square pixels and they are a bit more. I think technologically they are the same as in the wall, just in a flat, wear-resistant form factor.
There are 5 touch-panels with a futuristic interface in front of the central wall. First we are offered to give a hand to allow access, then we are asked to enter a name. Offer to see some videos and photos. All open photos / videos can be moved around the screen, removed from the screen with a quick movement (like throwing off the table), and scaled using multi-touch. You feel like a kind of Hollywood hero from the next movie about the future. And at least you understand that all this is just a flash, a child in the depths of your soul screams with delight and requires you to move the pictures at least a little more.
Entrance to the magic room.
The room where journalists and technicians sit. The tape from Twitter is transmitted to two screens, to the central one - stream from the conference.
We catch up.Well, I will add some statistics purely from myself for the same curious, and that the article was about IT. The maximum here was about 750 wireless devices online. The network load peak was around 120 Mb / s on download (the router did load balance between two Internet channels). The total traffic for 7 hours of the conference is about 140GB (and it is still ongoing):
RX bytes:113489255061 (105.6 GiB) TX bytes:39419805389 (36.7 GiB)
Statistics from the vlan of wireless users on the router.Sometimes the video starts to slow down, the phone does not pull out the speed of changing colors.I'm trying to play with the interface and simultaneously shoot. Alas.
