The menu in the style of MS Office appeared in Google Docs

In the text editor Google Docs there was a conceptual interface change. Tabs with buttons were replaced with a standard toolbar with drop-down menus, as is customary in ordinary desktop programs. Moreover, the menu set now Google Docs turns into almost an exact copy of MS Office 2003. Here are all the same items, with the exception of “View”, “Window” and “Help”.

New design google docs

From the convergence with the Google Docs Microsoft programs did not suffer at all, quite the opposite. Appearance has become a little nicer, and teams are grouped more logically. For example, in the “File” menu there is now a history of revisions, and in the “Edit” menu there are the usual Cut / Copy / Paste commands and the HTML editor. Tab “Styles” decided to rename the menu “Format”. From the “Tools” menu, you can select a language to check the grammar, among other things, Russian is supported.

The developers themselves explain the reason for the changes by researching user preferences. But the truth is that the Microsoft Office interface has already become classic and familiar to most users.
