Samsung Gear App Challenge app competition

Hello again!

If someone else doesn't know, Samsung launches the new Samsung Gear App Challenge for smartwatches. The total prize pool is $ 1,250,000. All winners will also receive support in promoting their apps from Samsung.



The competition takes place in 2 rounds:

ROUND 1:

• Application deadline: May 8, 2014 (05:00 Moscow time) - July 18, 2014 (01:00 Moscow time)
• Certification term in Samsung Apps *: July 18-31, 2014
• Evaluation of the jury: August 1, 2014 - August 11, 2014
• Winners Announced: August 13, 2014
• Top 200 finalists will be selected by the jury. Each will receive a prize of $ 2,000.

ROUND 2:

• The judges will select the best 40 applications and their authors will receive additional prizes worth $ 850,000 and the promotion of their applications.
• Application deadline: August 15, 2014 (18:00 Moscow time) - October 1, 2014 (01:00 Moscow time)
• The term of certification is not established. The version that will be available on October 1, 2014 will be considered, so make sure that your updated application has been certified.
• Jury Evaluation: October 1-20, 2014
• Announcement of winners (Top 10 and third winners): October 23, 2014
• Public voting from the Top 10: October 24 - November 9, 2014
• Awarding of the winners: the main prize-winner, the second prize-winner and the prize-winner of spectator sympathies - in the middle of November 2014

TOTAL:

• 1st place - 1 participant, prize $ 100,000.
• 2nd place - 9 participants, a prize of $ 50,000 each.
• 3rd place - 30 participants, a prize of $ 10,000 each.
• Audience Award - 1 private trader, a prize car worth approximately $ 50,000.
• The winners of the Round 1 - 200 participants, a prize of $ 2,000 each.
• + All participants are supported in promoting their applications, and the first and second winners are invited to Samsung events.

THE TERMS OF PARTICIPATION:

1. The Samsung Gear App Challenge is open to developers from all over the world who have registered on the Samsung Apps Seller Office website , including:
   a. Individual developers and teams of individual developers who have reached the age of 13. In case of minority of the participant and victory in one of the nominations, the guardian’s signature is required.
   b. Legal entities established prior to participation in the competition.
2. Persons, teams and organizations are NOT allowed to participate in the competition if:
   a. Participant is prohibited from participating by local law. For details, see the official rules .
   b. The application was developed in full or in part under a contract with the company "Samsung".
3. Please note that only applications that have been certified before or during the certification period (for the 1st round) will be eligible for the competition. We recommend approximately 1 week to certify the application.
4. Only the finalists of Round 1 are allowed to participate in Round 2.

REQUIREMENTS:

1. Applications submitted for the contest must be developed using the Samsung Gear Dev Tool specifically for Samsung Gear 2.
2. Your application can be one of three types of applications for Gear : Linked (Master-Follower), Integrated or Standalone.
3. If the Host-side application connects to the Samsung Galaxy, then the application must support at least one of the following devices: Galaxy S5, Galaxy Note 3, Galaxy S4.
4. All applications submitted to the competition must be registered with Samsung Apps before the deadline for submission of applications and successfully pass certification by the end of the certification period (for more details, see the official rules (Eng.) ).
5. Ready applications are allowed to participate if these applications were registered with Samsung Apps after May 1, 2014 and the development of these applications was not related to contractual obligations in part or in full to Samsung.
6. The application must support at least English.
7. Applications submitted for review in Round 2 must be finalists of Round 1 and must fully comply with the rules of Round 1. Additional points are awarded to an application that was developed using the Samsung Gear Dev Tool using the most current version.
