Warning: the post is not advertising a third-party site. I do not even link to it.Yesterday I entered the RSS feed and found a couple of links from popular sites (Reddit, HackerNews) to the article “Transactional Memory: History and Development”. The name seemed painfully familiar to me, the picture in the title was even more so. I am not a fan of copyright and planned to post an article under a Creative Commons license, so I did not attack the admins of Kukuruku. A comrade with HackerNews tried to inform the authors of the site that it would be nice to indicate the original article. To no avail.

I went to the site and left a comment complaining about how they stole your article. They are not credited. Does hn have a blacklist of sites that content or publish only blogspam? I think they should consider it.
Began to consider the site with the article further, found a lot of interesting things.

Hidden textWhat isn't kukuruku
This is not a place for copypasters. Republishing the content of traffic and traffic sources.
Kukuruku is not a store for self promotion. 19th century watches from your grandfather's collection. There is one hub specifically for the promotion: "I'm building relationships." But please, keep in mind - everything in moderation, including moderation.
Kukukruku is not a comedy club. Epic fail videos and pranks. And we do watch them. On other web sites.
Kukuruku is not a political discussion forum. Let's leave politics to politicians.
Kukuruku is not a book of complaints. Our lives are not limited to expectations, bitter relationships, broken promises, false expectations. But it doesn't mean that the IT community wants to know about every drama.
Please try to avoid these kind of publications. If your bike was stolen, call 911.
Kukuruku is not for clones. Founding multiple accounts will be banned for life.
What is kukuruku
Kukuruku is for critical writers. Content should be clear and consistent, interesting and informative.
Kukuruku is a place where civility rules. Aggressive antics and inflammatory remarks will be purged from our servers.
Kukuruku is a place for the intelligent discussions. Authoring should take authority. Not need to distract nor detractor from the central central office.
Kukuruku is a place for the passion. Few of us are lucky, let's spread this vision.
recalled the
rules of Habr :
Hidden textWhat is not Habr
Habr is not a place for copy-pasters. Placing completely copied content from other sites is prohibited - even when using a hyperlink to the source. We are for copyright materials.
Habr is not a LiveJournal and not a world crossposting center. No need to copy posts from other blogs and sites, indicating that they were previously published elsewhere.
Habr is not a store. You can advertise goods, services, events, accounts, etc., in your topics, a link to your blog / website is possible only in two cases: if the topic is in the hub “I am promoting”, or in a corporate blog. Also it is not allowed to place advertising in the habcenter. And do not abuse the possibilities of "I am promoting." Remember - everything is good in moderation.
Habr - not for monosyllabic posts. We also love funny comics, funny fotozhaby and carbon videos. But we view them on other sites, because they are intended for this, but Habr is not. All sorts of "cool links" without a detailed commentary is also better left behind.
Habr - not for politics. The site is extremely not welcome discussions on political topics in any of their manifestations.
Habr is not a complaint book. Our life is full of injustices, but this does not mean that you need to tell the IT community about every tragedy and drama. As a rule, in such articles there is one swearing, disassembling and clarifying the relationship with the transition to the individual and the publication of personal correspondence. We are categorically against this on Habré, so please refrain from complaining publications, and if someone deceived or robbed, contact the police.
Habr - for literate people. We love the Russian language and do not love those who distort it. Errors and typos are all - try to check the text before sending. Permanent spelling errors and ignoring the rules of punctuation are not welcome, as well as deliberately distorted words, “padonkoff slang” and other emoticons.
Habr - for calm people. There will always be someone who, in your opinion, is never right. However, we ask you to leave rudeness, rudeness, personal transitions and other manifestations of aggression and inadequacy for other resources - this is not in honor at Habré. Use the dictionary of synonyms - for mate and euphemisms UFO takes to where the sun does not shine.
Habr - not for beggars. Karma and rating are earned on Habré only in an honest way, that is, with their topics and comments. You should not post other people's posts, beg for invites or karma, arrange "attractions of unprecedented generosity", "topics of good" (or evil) and publish calls to raise each other's karma for any reason. To collect funds Habr is also not suitable.
Habr - not for clones. UFOs will block virtuals, their creators and those who think about it.
Habr - not for offenders. We have built this cozy resource for a long time, so it will be fair if we decide in which direction to develop further and from which violations to clean Habr. We try not to do anything with the bay-floundering, and if we have banned someone, added or removed some function - believe me, it means that the truth will be better for everyone. Simply put - it is forbidden to discuss the rules of the site and the actions of the administration, aimed at their observance.
If you are a rebel ...
For violation of any of these rules, the user in one form or another will have to be punished. Habr is a self-regulating community, therefore, the users of the site themselves are punished for the easy faults of bad guys (in karma, reducing the level of activity).
In other cases, a kind of warning shot is made - switching the user to the "Read Only" mode, when time is given to refresh the site rules and think over their behavior. In extreme cases, the administration of the service may block the user - we really do not like to do this, seriously, but sometimes it happens, because some individuals simply do not leave us a choice. We love Habr and do not want others to stop loving him because of someone’s dirty tricks.
We draw attention to the fact that accounts of registered users, their posts and comments are not deleted by the administration of the service. However, posts that violate the rules of the site may be hidden by a UFO without any notice.
Behave yourself and everything will be fine.
Moreover, ALL content (with the exception of a pair of news-links) is a crooked translation of Habrahabr articles without specifying sources. It does not matter whether the original article was written in Habré or translated by a habrazhitel. Articles are
being translated . Even my article on transactional memory, which is a collection-translation of a pack of English-language news and articles, was
translated back to English. Needless to say that the final article was gibberish?
I bring to your attention the original posts on Habré and the headlines of articles Kukuruku. You can easily find their site on Google. I don’t cite the links in order not to catch up with the visitors.
