Problems on the networks. Strange fall

New network problem from the unusual.

Here is a simplified topology:

')
We have a core network running MPLS TE. A top-notch VPLS service for a large customer is organized.
TE-Tunnels are strung between routers, in which VPLS traffic is wrapped with policies.

What equipment is behind our routers, we can only guess, but we trust their QoS tags and know that the main type of traffic comes with EF tags.

In one wonderful morning everything was gone - two links, depicted in red, fell (physically, broke optics, for example). And it is as if logical that nodes 2 and 3 have become unavailable. But the oddity: after them, the client began to complain about problems with node 4 - services also stopped working. After the restoration of damaged lines, everything was fixed on all nodes.

Attention, experts, the question: who is to blame and what to do?
