This story began in 2011 with a blog post by a web developer from Los Angeles named Joe Devon. He urged all ordinary developers to unite in the search for solutions to accessibility problems and convey to everyone the idea of the need to ensure accessibility for users with disabilities. Devon suggested starting with the establishment of one day a year, when the developer would test at least one page of one of his projects for accessibility, after which he would tell everyone exactly how he solved accessibility problems and explain to other colleagues that it is very necessary and not very difficult . This day was named Global Accessibility Awareness Day, (GAAD) and the date is May 15. In 2014, GAAD is held for the third time, and it has gone beyond web accessibility, extending to software, operating systems and any other products from the world of information technology, since the digital world must be fully accessible to absolutely all people.
There are several ways to spend this day with benefits to increase global accessibility:
Organize a presentation on accessibility in your company, tell your colleagues about it or hold a master class with a demonstration of any solutions in the area of accessibility.
Pay attention to displaying the interface of your website or software with enlarged fonts and the contrast of its color gamut.
Work with your sites or programs only from the keyboard without a mouse for about an hour and draw conclusions, but the most desperate can install a screen reading program, turn off the monitor and plunge into the world of sound perception, although this is not recommended for unprepared people.
Get familiar with accessibility tools for the platforms and technologies for which you are developing.
Write a blog about global day of accessibility distribution and talk about your company's commitment to these values.
And also to take any other actions that will make the IT world a little more accessible and better, but in case of a crisis of ideas, turn to ready-made proposals .

Below in the comments you can ask anything for accessibility and its provision, and if there is a need for additional materials on some specific aspects of accessibility and technologies, testing or just advice, here you will also be helped to help, and not only 15 May and in the comments.
