Google, on Monday, March 24, announced plans to create a new generation of wireless devices for Internet access. Connecting such gadgets (it is assumed that they will be based on the
Google Android platform ) to the World Wide Web, Google offers to implement through television waves, but the part of the spectrum that is between the channels is not licensed and not used, reports Reuters.
This is not the first attempt to allow companies to use the television wave band, but so far the FCC has not given permission for this kind of use, perhaps this will happen in 2009, when TV companies switch to digital broadcasting. The economic effect is planned to be very positive, at least in the USA, since bandwidth of modern networks is limited, for watching movies and TV shows.
