ECTACO jetBook

“Say goodbye to your old-fashioned, dusty library,” says ECTACO . That is how these comrades are going to advertise their new product - the e-book jetBook e-Book Reader , during the production of which “not a single tree was cut down”. The statement is very bold and controversial in many ways. But what the hell is not joking. I am sure that in the future (and not remote, but already clearly visible on the horizon), e-books will firmly take their place in the household of even our own, most reading nation in the world.

But whether jetBook is occupied by this place is another question. At first glance, the novelty is very good. Five-inch monochrome display (resolution is not known), multilingual support (Russian, judging by the manufacturer’s website, is also supported), MP3 playback of files (I won’t vouch for OGG and WMA - I didn’t find the information), the presence of an SD card slot, a bookmark, etc. - all this is of course wonderful. Confused by the design. In my opinion, the book turned out to be somewhat clumsy. Yes, and the red color, which, according to ECTACO, is the “color of knowledge”, something is not very suitable for such a device. And, of course, embarrassing pathos slogans in the style of "jetBook forever change your idea of reading." That's really something I can not believe. Considering also the considerable price ($ 349.95), it is better to let about as much of the same Sony Reader change my view. Or even Kindle.
