GPS Navigator in the flashlight

Studying the topic of replacing the display with any surface, I came across one interesting thing, and not finding its lighting on Habré, we decided to introduce it to you. Meet your guide and faithful travel assistant - Maptor.

A Maptor is a device no larger than a mini-flashlight that encloses a GPS navigator, a map and a projector. If the GPS navigator and the map are more or less clear, the projector is the highlight of this device: your “display” can be a wall, asphalt, or even your palm. With the help of the projector you can see the map, with the possibility of its increase, or decrease, and mark your location on the map.

This original gadget was introduced by two Korean designers, Jin-Sun Park and Jung-Sun Park (Seon-Keun Park).

Most of all, it resembles a flashlight. He has a light bulb and he projects light on any flat surface (wall, pavement, and if necessary, just on the palm). The only difference is that not just a bright spot is projected, but a map with a precise location, and Maptor itself is equipped with a GPS module and Bluetooth for wirelessly downloading maps.

To view the map, the user simply needs to activate the device and project the image on any surface: on the wall or even on his own palm.

Until now, the gadget exists in a single copy and is equipped with Bluetooth modules for downloading maps via Wi-Fi and GPS for their positioning “on the ground”. The device itself is miniature, details of the design can be seen in the figure:

On the front side, Maptor has a projector lens with an on / off controller, on the back side a lid with a cord loop, under which there is a capacity for the battery, and in the middle is a controller to control the zoom of the projector.

It becomes clear that the device is not intended for long-term viewing of the card (otherwise it would not be necessary to protect the arm from overheating). It is not clear what is meant by an environmentally friendly case - some special plastic? Also, the battery life is questionable ...

Maptor looks stylish, and the built-in functions make it a very necessary and useful device for travel lovers. Whether this portable GPS projector will go into series and how much it will cost is a question.
