Gates Foundation will give Romania free internet

Residents of Romania will be provided with free internet in libraries - the Bill and Melinda Gates charitable foundation, which allocates funds for the project, seeks to do this (there are about $ 32 billion in the fund). According to Techlabs.by , the computerization of Romanian libraries is part of the Global Libraries global initiative, and similar projects have already been implemented in Latvia, Lithuania, Chile and Mexico. It is emphasized that Global Libraries is in no way connected with Microsoft’s plans to digitize materials from the world's leading libraries.

The Romanian Ministry of Culture noted: “We met with the Fund’s representatives three times and provided them with a map of our library network for study.” It is known that in the course of the work the national libraries will be connected by a complex network of computers connected to the Internet.
