The smallest comics in the world "painted" on the tip of the hair

Not so long ago on Habré was published the news that IBM was able to "print" the world's smallest magazine cover. Now something similar was created not by a scientist, but by an artist who, obviously, is well acquainted with the latest achievements of science.

So, the comic strip, called “Juanita Knits the Planet”, is applied to human hair with a focused ion beam using a device belonging to the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.

Actually, here is the comic itself, with a description of the process of applying the comic to the surface of the hair.

But the comic in its usual, graphic version:

By the way, the comic is not just drawn, it was created to attract public attention to the meeting, which is called the Exceptional Hardware Software Meeting .

And the meeting is held in the framework of cooperation between communities and individual open source enthusiasts (both software and hardware), scientists and research organizations.

According to the authors of the project, such cooperation can be the beginning of the “third industrial revolution”, when the open ideas of different people and communities serve the public good. At the same time, the topics for discussion are very different - from thermonuclear reaction and quantum physics to devices for creating a “high vacuum”.

The meeting will be held this summer (June 27-29) in Hamburg, Germany.
