Exactly 5 years ago, I decided to arrange a survey on what methodology is used in domestic projects. There was no special purpose - pure curiosity moved me.
Since my blog was not too visited then, a little more than 120 people voted. But the results were curious.
Scrum ranked 3rd (14%)
')
2nd place went to our favorite methodology “How to” (21%)
And the first place with a large margin was taken by the methodology ... (18+)
The 1st place was taken by the methodology “Through% op” (35%). As I understand it, this is the same “How come”, but with an emotional color ... And the voting process was very curious. The “Through% OU” methodology went long in 2nd place, but at some point it made a breakthrough!
After that, we conducted similar surveys in 2011 and 2012. (In 2010 and 2013, honestly forgot to hold them). The results are as follows:
| 2009 | 2011 | 2012 |
Through% | 35% | thirty% | 18% |
We'll see how it goes | 21% | 18% | 15% |
Scrum | 14% | 18% | 21% |
Agile own cooking | eleven% | 18% | 27% |
Waterfall | --- | five% | eight% |
RUP-based | five% | five% | five% |
Xp | 3% | one% | one% |
MSF | one% | one% | one% |
CMM / CMMI | 2% | one% | --- |
Other | eight% | 3% | four% |
| | |
Number of answers | 122 | 913 | 850 |
Damn it, since now we have a blog on Habré, isn’t it time to conduct another survey, we thought?
Next week we are planning to publish several materials on project management, and today, before the holidays, the idea arose to conduct another slice of our industry and see:
- What are the trends in our industry?
- Are flexible methodologies really becoming more popular?
- In fact, is the methodology of the leader-2009 goes into oblivion?
As you understand, there is no deep meaning in this survey and attempts at serious analytics (and the survey itself is not completely correct), but we will still be very grateful for the answer!
