Google will determine the presence of a child at the computer

Google inventors have found a way to determine who is sitting at a computer on the other side of the screen: an adult or a minor. User behavior at the computer is monitored, including through the Google Toolbar. Analyzing all the information, data from the search history and the list of visited pages, the system allows to make a conclusion about the presence of the child relatively reliably. How effectively the method works is not yet clear, but the official patent for this invention has already been issued by the US Patent Office.

The author of the invention claimed in the patent, Dr. Krishna Bharat, is also listed as a co-author of another patent , which describes a system for determining the nationality, literacy level, age, gender and income level of a search engine user.

Krishna Bharat is known as the main developer of the Google News project. He currently holds the post of director of the new Google research unit in Bangalore (India).
