May 16, a seminar on sales of storage systems will start - “Storage technology and systems for SMB customers”

In February of this year, on the basis of the training center (TC) of the MUK group of companies (Kiev), a unique seminar “Technologies and Storage Systems for SMB Customers” developed at TC MUK was held for the first time. Specialists in the field of pre-sales training (presale), working with customers from the category of small and medium business in data storage systems (DSS). Since the market offers solutions from several key storage vendors at once, the knowledge and practical skills acquired by the listeners were not tied to a specific manufacturing company.

On the contrary, for the participants a comparative analysis of relevant product families from different companies was carried out, and already on its basis solutions that were optimal for customers were formed according to the stated requirements. The participants emphasized the importance of obtaining the skills of personal interaction with customers. Their development is included in the program of each day of the seminar and is most pronounced on the last day of training, when the creation and protection of a project is modeled before the customer in the mode of teamwork.

The workshop is held in two modules, two days each. With a goal of minimal impact on the schedule of the participants, it was found that the second day of each module is held on Saturdays. It is tentatively planned that the group will start on May 16, continue to study on May 17, and then complete the training on May 23-24 *.

11:30 Technology remote replication data. Examples of configurations based on these technologies. Examples of designing disaster-proof solutions.
13:00 Lunch break
14:00 Review of IBM V7000 midrange storage systems. Arguments to pay attention to the V7000 customer.
15:00 Overview of EMC VNX 5x00 mid-range storage systems. Characteristic differences VNX from similar systems of other vendors.
16:00 HP 3PAR StoreServ, HP StoreVirtual 4000 (formerly known as LeftHand) mid-range storage systems review from HP. Niches for their use in the domestic market.

Day 3
10:00 System backup data. Theory of effective performance “Backup”.
12:00 Overview of tape storage technology. Familiarity with LTO and DAT devices. The scope of their application.

14:00 How to make a sizing solution that implements data backup.
15:00 How to make a data storage system sizing. Frequently asked questions and situations that presale specialists have to face.

Day 4
From 10:00 to 13:00 Business team game with the study of real situations that arise when working with customers:
- Removal of TZ at the customer.
- Work with objections when communicating with customers.
- Protection of the project proposed to the customer using the storage system.
13:00 Analysis of the results. Rewarding the best team, questions and answers.
