Google settled scandal with Belgian newspapers

The scandal between the search giant Google and the Belgian publishing house Copiepresse, which produces several newspapers, seems to be nearing completion. Sofam and Scam’s copyright advocacy groups (the latter translates as “scam”) forced Google to remove links to a number of articles in Belgian newspapers from Google News.

Experts believe that the scandal forced many to re-look at the problem of copyright protection on the web, reports the New York Times .

Earlier, similar claims by Google were made by the AFP news agency, which banned references to its materials.
