Let me remind you that the conditions were as follows: the manufacturer must be within the "free zone" and each model must receive the approval of the Ministry of Culture. Obviously Microsoft was able to meet the criteria.



Game consoles in China remained banned for more than a decade out of concern by the government for the physical and psychological health of children. Access to game consoles could only be obtained on the black market, but now the situation promises to change with the disconnection of the Golden Shield (also known as the Great Chinese Firewall) in the zone.

The time was chosen successfully: China is trying to maintain the pace of development of its economy, which began to slow down in the absence of change. Microsoft (5 million sales of Xbox One) can also count on changes in financial success in competition with Sony (7 million sales of PS4): for 14 years without a western console, a Chinese gamer could starve for games. Although the reservation remains, not all games will be allowed to be sold in China, with the exception of titles showing "obscenity, drug use, violence and gambling."
