FBI lured maniacs on a fake site

FBI agents have posted fake hyperlinks on Russian websites, where fans of child pornography from all over the world gather. Links led to a specially made site hosted on the FBI server. Detailed logs were kept there and the IP addresses of all visitors were registered, which automatically became criminals after that. Then the houses of these people were subjected to an unexpected search (usually you can find enough evidence on the computer maniacs).

In fact, catching criminals "live bait" is not an ordinary practice. It is not accepted to do this, because it is not entirely ethical and can be classified as inclination of citizens to commit a crime. In this case, there was a real deception, and the advertised video did not actually contain any pornography. However, according to American law, any “attempt” to download child pornography is already a crime, even if this attempt is unsuccessful.

This technique is clearly recognized as successful. Published court documents show that the evidence collected is ample evidence in court.
