HR research. The most popular programming language in the Siberian region, the average wage level and where our programmers want to move

Not long ago, the recruitment agency Alexey Sukhorukov (Novosibirsk) conducted a survey among programmers. The purpose of the survey was to identify the most popular programming language in the Siberian region, the average wage level, where our programmers want to go.

The most popular programming language was C ++ , Java ranked second, PHP ranked third, C # ranked fourth. In this case, the most popular programming languages were called Java and PHP.

For 33% of respondents, the maximum period of work in one company was from 3 to 5 years. About 30% answered that their record is 2 years. For 25% of respondents, the maximum period was more than 5 years.

The average salary for junior, middle, senior programmers was 25, 40 and 70 thousand, respectively. According to the majority of respondents, the salary for novice programmers should be from 20 to 40 thousand rubles, for average programmers from 30 to 70, and for experienced programmers from 80 to 120 thousand rubles. However, some believe that the salary for a senior should be only 45 thousand rubles, and some have offered 200 thousand rubles.

It is worth noting that financial motivation is a determining factor when choosing a place of work. A slightly less important factor for programmers is the work on interesting projects and adequate guidance. Other factors, such as career growth, corporate culture, stability and scale of the company, availability of trainings and internships, proximity to home, are significantly lagging behind in popularity (no more than 10% of answers). Suddenly, the most unpopular answer was the company's rapid growth. We hope these figures will help employers in recruiting and motivating new employees.

As well as the plans of professional development programmers. An equal number of respondents (22%) want to become leading developers or open their own company. 19% just want to become the best experts in their field. From 10 to 13% of specialists want to continue to occupy leadership positions (project-manager, Team leader).

And finally, where do our programmers want to move? The most popular cities were St. Petersburg, Moscow and Kaliningrad . And St. Petersburg is currently overtaking Moscow. The most popular countries are the USA, Germany and Canada .

The Novosibirsk region won in the rating of the most popular IT regions, Tomsk ranked second. Approximately the same number of votes was gained by the Sverdlovsk, Nizhny Novgorod and Voronezh regions . They are in third place in popularity.
