However, according to British experts, in five years, the global network will be very different from the modern virtual space. Scientists are sure: soon the Network will learn to understand the meaning of links and will anticipate the user's desires. Russian experts have their own opinion on this.

According to the expert, the main focus will be on the "semantic network".

If now search engines work mainly with links and pick up links between sites, in the future the user will be able to get an analysis of specific information that is contained on the sites.

“Computers will“ capture ”the context of information, will be able to identify and evaluate complex connections between people, geographical points and information and summarize all this in order to provide valuable search results and generally facilitate online work,” the Daily Telegraph quoted the words of the scientist.

Moreover, according to Berners-Lee, the semantic network will not be created from scratch, it will be a continuation of the current Internet.

The idea of ​​a smart network has already received IT support. For example, the company Yahoo! recently announced that it will move to a number of key standards of the semantic network.

As a result, modern search engines will learn to “read” information available on the Internet, such as videos or photos.

“For example, if you request information about a film actor from a semantic search engine, it will understand the context of the request and compile a compilation of information from all over the Internet - a biography of an actor, links to film reviews, information about nearby cinemas with the possibility of booking tickets. Now it would take two or three separate requests, but in the future one will suffice, ”writes Inopressa.

However, some skeptics fear that the semantic network never realizes its full potential, since its distribution depends on the cooperation of companies, which in many cases directly compete with each other.

It should be noted that the semantic network is partially implemented in Russia. In RuNet, Picollator.ru search engine is already running, which processes large arrays of multimedia information. The technology allows you to recognize the faces of people in digital images and find other similar faces, making them like a library.

According to the head of the laboratory of media culture, communication and convergence of the journalism department of the Moscow State University, Ivan Zasursky, work in this direction is underway in Russia, but the process is still very slow.

“There are many search companies that have now shifted to the semantic direction. What of this will be claimed by users - until the question. Indeed, it is one thing - the development of technology and quite another - whether it will be applied massively, ”says Zassoursky.

According to the expert, everything will depend on how well the leading companies make this technology understandable and how Internet resources can adapt to it.

“Now in Russia, first of all, it is necessary to develop an Internet audience in the regions and schools,” the expert concluded.
