Sort topics on the start page

With the system of rating topics by users, like here on Habré, topics that scored a rating above a certain threshold get to the start page.
In this case, the topics are sorted by date created.
The nuance is that the rating is typed disproportionately and the topics appear in an arbitrary order - thus, it turns out that some topics appear as if "backdating". Those. after already read.
And to read all new topics sometimes just do not have enough time.
So, IMHO, the function would be very useful when the topics are sorted not by the date of creation, but by the date of overcoming the “patency” threshold ...
