In early January , a vulnerability was found in the Linksys and Netgear routers, allowing full access to the device, including the root shell.

In the updates that came out after this, as it turned out, the backdoor was not fixed, but disguised. And if earlier it was activated along with the launch of the system, now to activate it you need to send an ethernet packet of a special type. Thus, it can now be used only if you are an Internet provider or are in the same local network with a router.
