Earlier, RBC spread the words of Dmitry Sergeev, the executive director of Vkontakte, that Durov had not withdrawn his resignation letter of April 1, despite subsequent comments .

At the same time, Sergeyev added that Durov could be offered the position of the “chief architect” of the social network: “I would like to hope that Pavel Durov and shareholders will agree on his further participation in the development of the network and in shaping the product strategy. Pavel is the creator of the network, a visionary, a phenomenally gifted person, and such participation would be extremely useful. ”

According to him, this position will not require the involvement of Durov in the operating business and the constant participation in current processes. Their management, as Sergeyev says, became difficult for Durov "taking into account international projects and lawsuits", and the position of "chief architect" will allow "maintaining the link between Pavel and the company."

As reported, Durov wrote a letter of resignation on March 21. He wrote about this on April 1, but after a couple of days he stated that he intended to remain in office. At the same time, Forbes magazine reported that Durov sent a letter to the members of the board of directors of the company in which he withdrew his resignation letter: “Since it came to my notice that my resignation now could create unnecessary risks for our company, I intend to stay and work as CEO ".

However, according to Sergeyev, Durov did not withdraw his statement. In this regard, after 30 days the company's management decided to dismiss him. Operational management of the company will be carried out by First Deputy General Director Boris Dobrodeev and Executive Director Dmitry Sergeev.
