SpaceX Dragon private spacecraft successfully docked with the ISS.

Yesterday at 18:06 MSK, the SpaceX Dragon spacecraft manufactured by SpaceX Company successfully docked with the International Space Station. To get closer to the station, the ship had to perform many additional maneuvers, including its engine for short periods of time. At 15:14 MSK, a robotic arm was activated on the ISS under the control of the Japanese astronaut Koichi Wakata and the American astronaut Rika Mastrakkio. The hand pulled the ship to the Harmony module on the ISS.

This is already the fourth case, when the “Dragon” successfully performs such a maneuver, so that in the future it may well claim to be the main transport vessel for delivering cargo to the ISS.

"Dragon" delivered almost 2300 kg of cargo to the orbital station: this is food for astronauts, and equipment for many scientific experiments , including seedlings for growing under weightless conditions and a mini-satellite running a smartphone.

Docking with the ISS is not the only success of the "Dragon". Its launch was a test for the reusable Falcon 9 launch vehicle manufactured by the same company SpaceX. After sending the module into orbit, the first stage of the launch vehicle successfully splashed down in the Atlantic Ocean and is suitable for further use. This is a great success for the project, which the developers assigned the probability of implementation of 30-40%.

The videos show a test launch of Falcon 9 to a height of 250 meters, followed by a landing, as well as a real launch to the ISS.
