HackDay City: from idea to prototype project for a city in 48 hours!

From April 25 to April 27 we spend in St. Petersburg HackDay City . This will be the first HackDay where participants will develop projects designed to help bring people together, improve the urban environment and increase the efficiency of urban organizations and services. These can be any projects, and participants can use any technology. The main thing is that the project makes the life of people better, and the prototype was developed in 48 hours.

Unfortunately, most of the initiatives that come from the residents of the city are just words or, at best, presentations. At HackDay City, you can talk about your idea, put together a team and develop a project prototype in 48 hours.

We invite programmers, designers, city experts, researchers, analysts who want to take part in the life of the city and launch their projects for the city.

It does not necessarily have to be open data or projects for the government. Although we have already received several letters from the administration of St. Petersburg with the information that HackDay City is an important event for the city.

• For example, smallknot.com (US) allows you to co-invest in local small businesses - for example, in your favorite coffee shop or shop, located in the next quarter.
• Nextdoor is a platform for neighbors and small communities, created to encourage the spread of knowledge and bring people together at the neighborhood level. By the way, the project recently received an investment of $ 60 million.
• Change.org has long been helping people start their campaigns and thereby make the changes they consider necessary in life.

Nomination “Best Project Using Aviasales Data”
The nomination will consider projects written using the open API Aviasales.ru and Hotellook.ru, as well as Aviasales iOS-SDK, where this toolkit can be used as a basis for the service or used to create additional functionality in the project of any other direction.
Projects for the city are not only solving the problems of housing and public utilities and pits on the roads, it is also orienteering, sharing information and much more. You can, for example, create a guide to the largest music events of St. Petersburg and add for each of them a search for hotels in a given radius, taking the venue as the starting point - it will turn out about the city and about the API.
You can integrate not only search, but also many associated services that use the cache of search data Aviasales.ru and Hotellook.ru - a calendar of prices, a price map, and so on.
