New step Yandex in the fight against corrupt links

Today on Yandex there was a rather strange update. Many sites have lost 10 positions. In such a situation, two main theories are likely: a change in the algorithm or another failure in Yandex’s work (for example, a part of the anchor base could fall off). The promise of Yandex to launch a new Magadan algorithm in mid-March added fuel to the fire.

The record “About the attitude of Yandex to SEO-links” that appeared yesterday night on the Yandex.Search blog slightly clarifies the picture (for those who do not know, Yandex developers keep this blog).

The following conclusions can be drawn from the recording itself and its comments:
  1. The algorithm has really changed. Introduced new link filters or improved old ones.
  2. This is not yet Magadan. The most interesting is yet to come.
  3. For sites that sell links, applied (or will soon be applied) rather severe sanctions.

According to my first impressions, the following trends emerged:
  1. Got sites actively using to promote Sapu
  2. The positions of “old” sites, to which there are many “old” links, have become stronger.
  3. In the first ten editions, there are more internal pages.

My personal opinion about the quality of the new issue: the quality has generally deteriorated.

For low-frequency queries, sales links often helped Yandex very often. The text analysis algorithm for Yandex still lags far behind Google’s very same one, and links to directly quoting various formulations of queries (set up by bona fide optimizers, not dorveyshchikami), served as a good tool. Now most of these links are filtered.

By high-frequency inquiries, in some places there are positive changes, for example, the first three of everyone’s favorite Searchengines.ru has come up with queries like “website optimization”, “search engine optimization”, etc. In general, non-commercial sites got a chance to climb on commercial inquiries. This makes me happy.
