Mobile phone based laboratory microscope

At Kickstarter , a project was launched to create a miniature Micro Phone Lens 150x lens that turns a mobile phone camera into a full-fledged microscope.

The author of the project is an American, Thomas Larson , who had previously launched a similar project . Micro Phone Lens 150x differs from its predecessor in that it can use 150-fold increase (against 15-fold in its predecessor). The visible resolution of the prototype is 2 microns, which is 10 times less than the thickness of a human hair. The commercial sample, in turn, the resolution will be 1.5–1.6 microns.

Thus, we can say that this device turns an ordinary phone into a good laboratory microscope. For comparison, the author cites pictures obtained with the help of his attachment and a professional microscope Motic AE2000 with a 2 megapixel nozzle Moticam, the cost of the whole structure is $ 2,723.

The diameter of the lily is 6 mm, and the top is a rubber nozzle. To focus, it is enough to press the glass with the sample under consideration to the accessory.
