Alisher Usmanov prepares to purchase Gazeta.Ru
Sekret Firmy publishing house has concluded an agreement on the sale of the Gazeta.Ru online publication, RBC reports. Official confirmation of the transaction has not yet followed, but market participants attribute the purchase to Alisher Usmanov, CEO of Gazprominvestholding.
According to experts familiar with the situation, Usmanov is ready to pay about $ 30 million for an online newspaper. Previously, Alisher Usmanov repeatedly said that he wanted to create a large media holding based on the Kommersant newspaper. After the acquisition of the Kommersant Publishing House for about $ 300 million, rumors appeared on the market that it also intends to acquire the 7TV sports channel and the Gazeta.Ru online publication.
