Google
has received a US patent for contact lenses that contain an electrical circuit, a camera and a sensor. Sensors of light, pressure, temperature and electric field are mentioned.
A few months ago it was reported that Google X laboratories are developing
“smart” contact lenses that can measure blood glucose levels. Now engineers may be trying to place a tiny video camera on an integrated circuit. This is much more convenient than the camera on the glasses, because the direction of shooting will always coincide with the direction of the look. In addition, the video camera in the lenses does not irritate others, like Google Glass glasses.
Such technologies are gradually emerging from experimental status. Scientists have already managed to inject a small display and other electronics into contact lenses.

Constant video recording of the surrounding world with computer processing of information gives a number of obvious advantages. A computer can always remember and prompt important information that a person missed by attention: an inscription, a familiar face, the details of an important event. The patent mentions the possibility of changing the focal length of the lens in the lenses, that is, zooming, which is also convenient when visiting a stadium, theater or other public events.
