Laptop selection

I address the question to the habrasoobschestvu, owning laptops.

My long-suffering desktop is outdated, and I also have to drive a lot. I decided, in general, to buy a laptop. But as I had never been interested in the issue of laptops before, I’ve been faced with a rather wide choice and I don’t know where to go.

Estimated budget - up to 2000 euros. Purchase will be made in Germany. I want something powerful, with Core 2 Duo, preferably 4 gigabytes of memory and a good video card (two, however, bust already). It will be used on a daily basis, both for surfing and working out, and often to play and watch a film, but the key point is all in different places, as I live in a boarding school, I am at home on weekends, and student life will soon begin that's why the laptop itself.

While looking at Dell XPS Gaming, there you can put together a good configuration. The question is, however, how much with such a set will the battery last if used on the road. And they prompted the MacBook Pro to see - also, in principle, an interesting option ...

In general, advise something :) What would you take? I would like to see the arguments for or against specific manufacturers / models.
