iFixit dismantles the Samsung Gear 2 watch

The recently released Samsung Gear 2 smart watches were disassembled by iFixit portal specialists for details.



The Samsung Gear 2 watch is equipped with a 1.63-inch Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 320 x 320 pixels, a 2-megapixel camera, 4 GB of internal memory and a 300 mAh battery.

Having analyzed the device for parts, the iFixit specialists gave the watch a score of 8 points out of 10 on the repairability scale, noting the following points:

The watch bracelet is removed extremely easily, which allows you to quickly replace it or upgrade it.



Screws, clamps and pressure contacts make it easy to disassemble the device. The back cover can be removed without difficulty.



The battery can also be easily removed and replaced without any tools.





Difficulties arose only with the removal of the display. Since this is a monolithic construction and “glued together” with the front part of the case, the process of removing the display turned out to be the most difficult.
